In association with the vSEED project, I am mathematically modelling the germination process of Arabidopsis thaliana and Lepidium sativum seed.

My focus is on translating the biochemical reactions in the endosperm cell wall to mechanical properties such as extensibility, permeability and ultimately the cell separation event.
