Analysing plant growth regulation by the Green Revolution hormone gibberellin

The plant hormone gibberellin regulates plant growth and plays a key role in adaptation to environmental conditions. Understanding this regulation is a prime target for increasing crop yields and improving food security. Gibberellin’s growth regulation involves numerous processes and a systems-level modelling approach is essential to understand how these processes interact. This project will use multiscale mathematical modelling in conjunction with recent experimental data to characterise how gibberellin regulates growth. The research will improve our understanding of how plant growth is affected by temperature, drought, and genetic mutations.
