Education, Training & Engagement
The Centre for Plant Integrative Biology runs a range of activities to explain to the outside world what we do, and to help others to adopt our approaches to plant science research.
For the scientific community, we run well-established training events such as Mathematical Modelling for Biologists and Image Analysis for Biologists, which introduce interdisciplinary techniques to early career researchers. We also host the Mathematics in the Plant Sciences Study Group workshops, which enable plant scientists to access mathematical and computer science expertise, and foster greater involvement in plant science within the modelling community. We regularly host workshops and conferences within and across the disciplines we work in.
We work closely with colleagues in the School of Biosciences at the University of Nottingham to undertake a range of public and schools engagement activities, both locally and nationally.
